New Citified Hits the Streets Next Week!!!

Following up their stellar "The Meeting After The Meeting" release from last spring, eskimo kiss is excited to unveil "Absence," the new 5-song EP from Greensboro, NC's Citified.

Once again recording with engineer Jerry Kee at his Duck-Kee studio in Mebane, and with the same lineup that created "The Meeting...," Citified have compiled an inspiring and timeless soundscape that you're sure to listen to again and again. Hints of 80s shoegaze and Athens college rock seep through on a release that is layered and thorough ... and ultimately the band's strongest outing yet.

"Absence" will be officially released digitally and in retail outlets on May 26, but you can order the record direct from us now, for shipment next week. As a special bonus, the first batch of orders will come with a CDR containing several unreleased gems from the band; this alone is worthy of the Absence pricetag (which is a steal at only $6)!

It's "Not For Everyone, Just For You"!

"Not For Everyone, Just For You" is the outstanding new full-length CD from Chapel Hill's North Elementary. Recorded over the winter of 2006-'07 with producer Alan Weatherhead (Hotel Lights, Sparklehorse), NFEJFY has been a long time coming but is well worth the wait.

The disc will be released on February 24, but you can preorder your copy NOW, to be shipped the week of February 16. The first 10 preorders get a very special treat -- the entire North Elementary Weeble Wobble Sound Series (a set of three NE 7" releases)! Not only do these records sound amazing, but they are enclosed in a hand-sewn, silkscreened North Elementary cover constructed by Alison at www.myspace.com/burntcookieaprons. To order, just click the Buy CD link over to the left.

North Elementary will be touring around the east coast throughout the summer in support of NFEJFY as well as an upcoming split 7" with Atlanta's Pistolero. So be on the lookout, and check them out if they come to your town! For more info visit www.northelementary.com

Introducing The Good Graces!

When I started eskimo kiss records on that snowy day in January 2000, I never thought it would eventually bring me to this point -- releasing my own solo record! But I'm happy to announce that on October 28, 2008, The Good Graces' 10-song CD, "Sunset Over Saxapahaw," will be unveiled to the world. But guess what? You can preorder it NOW, just follow the handy "BUY CD" link over there to the left. Pre-orders will be shipped the first week of October, so you can get your disc before it's even available to the general public. AND the first ten orders get a free print of artist Marissa Kaye's "Tangerine Sunset," which was used for the album's cover art. How cool is that?!?

The 411 - "Sunset Over Saxapahaw" is a catchy, honest, and endearing collection of tunes about heartbreak and hope. And while I've put a lot into every single eskimo kiss release, I can honestly say that I put more of myself into this project than anything else I've ever attempted. And if you know me, you know I've had a lot of "projects".

I could go on about the recording process (it was so much fun and inspiring), my influences (every eskimo kiss artist + John Darnielle), or the wonderful friends who helped me (and just because you aren't mentioned by name here doesn't mean I'm not forever grateful). But I feel that's all I really need to say. This record is ME, and I hope you like it.
